Task 3: Being inclusive, engaging and adaptive

In this task we’ll look at prompts for ensuring that your product is inclusive, engaging/involving and adaptive. It assumes you have a live project to work with.

Step-by-step
  1. As a group, review your project together and ask yourself how it could be iterated in the following areas:
    • How can it be more inclusive?
    • How can it be more involving?
    • How can it be more adaptive?

    For example

    • How can it be more inclusive?
      • Clearer language
      • Less cognitive load on the screen
    • How can it be more involving?
      • Could give a follow-up around how helpful the question was
      • Could ask for questions or concerns multiple times before meeting
    • How can it be more adaptive?
      • Helps you construct better questions with hints and tips
      • Ability to take notes using voice recognition
  2. As a group, reflect on the following questions:
    • What did you learn from this activity?
    • Was anything surprising?
    • Was anything particularly challenging?
    • Does this change the way you would design your product from the start if doing it again?
